Hotel Knowledge Base by SalesHospitality
Editorial Standards
Built to be useful, clear, and trustworthy.
The Hotel Knowledge Base is a free educational reference for hotel professionals and learners. It is not legal, financial, insurance, safety, medical, cybersecurity, tax, or property-specific operating advice. Hotels should follow applicable law, contracts, brand standards, approved procedures, and qualified guidance.
Our coverage is vendor-neutral. Sources are selected in a practical hierarchy: primary documentation and standards first, then recognized academic and professional-association material, followed by credible industry research where primary material is unavailable. Vendor documentation may explain its own product or category, but inclusion is not an endorsement.
Articles use plain-English definitions, hotel-specific context, realistic examples, limitations, common mistakes, best practices, related concepts, and traceable sources. We avoid promotional superlatives, unsupported universal claims, hidden sponsorship, paid placement, and keyword-stuffed copy.
AI tools may assist research, organization, and drafting. Published content remains subject to SalesHospitality editorial standards, source review, and human responsibility. The SalesHospitality Editorial Team decides what is published and does not claim perfect accuracy, independent expert review, legal review, academic peer review, or regulatory approval unless that review actually occurred.
Every article has an editorial owner, review date, review interval, source records, and a correction path. Stable evergreen topics normally receive annual review; operationally evolving topics receive at least annual review; time-sensitive and higher-risk topics receive closer review, commonly every six months. Material changes are checked before review dates are updated.
Higher-risk legal, compliance, privacy, insurance, safety, cybersecurity, and AI topics use narrower claims, visible scope cautions, and stronger primary or authoritative sources. A source may support general context without resolving a property-specific decision.
Readers can suggest a correction with the article, questioned information, proposed change, and supporting source. Submissions are evaluated for specificity, source quality, scope, and consistency; submission does not guarantee a change. Material reader-facing updates may be summarized on the Corrections and Updates page.
SalesHospitality does not sell article placement, rankings, favorable coverage, or source inclusion. Any future sponsorship or conflict that could affect reader interpretation must be clearly disclosed and cannot control editorial conclusions. The library remains available without a paywall.
